About the Academy
KB Hopane Music Academy is a music school offering skill-based musical courses. We use our own unique and practical methods to cater for different types of students. We do teach music theory — but the skill is what we are most concerned about.
We are not a casual lesson service. Each level is a defined six-month course with clear expectations, measurable progress and formal recognition on completion. Students are guided through consistent instruction, supported practice and honest assessment.
Our focus is long-term musical growth — building confident, capable musicians with genuine technical and theoretical foundations.

Course Levels
Each level is a structured six-month course. Students develop progressively and may advance after completing the relevant level and its assessments.

Foundations of playing, reading and musicianship. Core technique and introductory theory built on a steady practice routine.

Greater technical control, wider repertoire and deeper theory, supported by regular practical work and assessment.

Refined musicianship, advanced technique and interpretation, with assessments that consolidate everything developed so far.
Piano
Piano is offered both online and as contact lessons, with pricing per age group.

All fees are in South African Rand. A once-off registration fee of R250 is required before a student officially begins their course.
